Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, I moved to Iowa in 2012 and got my Master’s Degree in Architecture from Iowa State University. This year I got married to my wife Morgan and we bought a 125 year old house in Des Moines where we live with our son Kasen and dog Charlie. Kasen will be graduating from Valley High School this year and plans on moving to Portland, OR for college. I enjoy playing music, listening to my record collection, watching stand-up comedy and playing with my niece and nephew when they come to visit from Washington DC.

I am a professional experienced in education, design, and construction coordination. I developed my ability to understand and communicate with individuals with diverse viewpoints and thinking styles as a Pre-K - 8th grade educator. While going back to school for architecture, I worked as a bookseller and server where I learned to build relationships directly with customers by communicating that I understood their needs. I developed my organizational and analytical skills guiding building projects from design through completion. I act as a manager and liaison between the developers, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and code officials to ensure that the final product will be delivered on time, on budget, and fulfill the needs and desires of the building owners and tenants.
